The C. C. Kirkpatrick Home
S.W. Corner of W. Concho and S. Koenigheim St.
This house was mentioned in a letter dated May 12, 1914. This house was probably designed, built, and occupied between the years of 1912 and 1913. Mr. C. (Charles) C. Kirkpatrick was the cashier of the San Angelo Bank and Trust, which became the Central National Bank by 1914. This position was apparently a fairly well paid position in banks during the early 20th Century as Clarkson designed houses for several bank cashiers. A somewhat similar house was designed by him in 1916 for Alex Spears of Cisco, TX, who was the cashier for the First National Bank of Cisco. According to the present owner whom my daughter talked with, the Kirkpatrick house was originally a two-story box design with no one-story wings. The one-story wings were not original and were added at a later date. The present owner of the house is a prominent businessman in downtown San Angelo. As far as I know at this time, this was the only structure designed by Clarkson in San Angelo.
