Federal Housing Project in McGregor, Texas 1942

Numerous searches of the internet has produced very little information on this project. In 1942, work was begun on Fort Hood Army Base and that 300 families were forced to move out of their homes for Fort Hood.  This project was to help the displaced families with finding homes.

This satellite photo of McGregor shows what I believe are all that remains of the 1942 Housing project.  It is now just scarring from original roads and remainders of foundations.
