Breckenridge, Texas
The Breckenridge Y.M.C.A. was probably designed in the early 1920's. It is still in useable shape with some work and activity going on inside. It does need repair work in a number of areas. Time and lack of maintenance has taken a toll on this Y.M.C.A. building.
The First National Bank of Breckenridge was designed in the early 1920's. It was used for many years until the hotel across the street became available and the bank decided to purchase the old hotel and turn the 1st floor into the bank. The old bank building eventually was taken over for the Swenson Museum.
The first United Methodist Church of Breckenridge was built in the early 1920's. It was eventually torn down and replaced with a more modern building. There are no photos available for this projectl.
The Breckenridge ISD had Clarkson design a number of school projects. Unfortunately, modernization took it's toll on these schools and they were eventually torn down. The following photos of the High School were scanned out of a couple of late 1920's annuals. There were no actual photos of any of the schools to be found on the internet or in the School Administration that could be scanned.
